September Wrap-Up 2016

Ok, so this month didn’t go a well for me in terms of reading compared to last month. I’d initially set myself a target of 6 physical books plus what ever eBooks I could fit in if I so wished. Unfortunately I only ended up reading 4 physical books (of which only 1 was on my initial tbr list) and no eBooks. As it happens life simply got in the way. Work played a big factor unfortunately… oh the joys of having to adult! But either way – here’s my September wrap up!

26642116Six of Crows‘ by Leigh Bardugo

My thoughts;
This book got a lot of hype and I admit I was a little late on that particular train but I’m so glad I got round to reading this beauty. It was very gritty and dark at times but was written in such a way that it simply gripped you. It was an action packed book from start to finish with a multitude of twists and turns which kept me hooked and wanting to know more. The story line was different and exciting and the characters were all amazingly unique and well written. Kaz was such an intriguing character and one I can’t wait to explore more of in ‘Crooked Kingdom’

My rating⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ [5/5 Stars]

My thoughts;
The very anticipated sequel to the wonderful ‘An Ember in the Ashes’ did not disappoint! This book was amazing, full of action, character development, wonderful twists and turns and enough anticipation to keep you on the edge of your seat! The relationship between Elias and Laia developed wonderfully throughout this book and I absolutely loved how Helene was written in this book as well. The story line was wonderful and that ending definitely makes me want more. I am intrigued and want more!!

My rating⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ [5/5 Stars]

25820270In The Afterlight‘ by Alexandra Bracken

My thoughts;
This was such an awesome conclusion to this equally awesome series. It’s definitely one of my favourite series’ of all time and I’m genuinely super sad that its come to its end. I’ve always loved the character development in the previous books in this series and this conclusion definately lived up to the previous two. Liam and Ruby’s relationship was wonderful, full of ups and downs… the idea of which side was right and who was truly the ‘good guys’ was always questioned. This book was incredible. Full of action, character and story line development!!

My rating⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ [5/5 Stars]

25365584The Graces‘ by Laure Eve

My thoughts;
This was a very easy book to read. I personally really enjoyed it, the slightly darker elements within the book kept it very interesting. I’ll be honest when I say that this book initially gave me Twilight vibes, not with the whole vampire aspect… as there were no vampires in this book, just witches… but in terms of the start of the story line and the setting. I also enjoyed the fact that there was no strong love line in this book… it was more about the main character River discovering herself! Definitely a solid book!

My rating⭐⭐⭐⭐ [4/5 Stars]

So that wrap’s up September! Some really awesome reads, its a shame I didn’t get more read but unfortunately life is just like that sometimes! Now on to Halloween month.. the proper Autumn season! Can’t wait… hopefully I get some more books read and completed. Can’t wait to delve further into my rather intimidating tbr list… there’s definitely some books on there I can’t wait to start on, one of which is the sequel to one of the beauties above (ie. it’s obviously ‘Crooked Kingdom’!!).

October here I come!
